Accommodation, activities and transportation
 The place - We spend the night at
Findebotten farm, a definite highlight of the cruise. We will have the
place entirely to ourselves and our very caring and friendly hosts,
Turid and Ingebrigt, will be there to take excellent care of us. All the
food is home-made, always using traditional, Norwegian produce. The
scenery in the Finnafjord and surrounding the farm is absolutely
breathtaking and you will probably be able to take some of your best
photos there. The family who lives there has many animals, all of which
wander and fly freely about. Some of them are not exactly the regular
Norwegian farm animals, which makes it all so much more interesting...!
 The rooms - Turid and Ingebrigt Findebotten opened their small
hotel in 2007. It only has 9 twin rooms, all of them with en-suite
bathrooms. The rooms and the bathrooms are quite spacious and very
comfortable. The only complaint they have ever received at Findebotten
farm is that the beds are simply too comfortable and that you sleep too
long!
 Activities - In the summer, we are so lucky to experience
extremely long days and twilight at night here in Norway, which makes it
possible for you to make the most of your stay at Findebotten. You may
go fishing from the shore or from a small rowing boat out in the fjord;
another option is to go kayaking or canoeing in the fjord, surrounded by
the massive mountains towering around you; finally, you may also go
hiking in the hillside behind the farm. If you want a real challenge and
go really high up, you may be accompanied by your hosts or by us. You
may also want to just spend your time outside on the patio, enjoying a
glass of fine wine or delicious, home-brewed beer from the bar. If you
are very brave, you can also go for a midnight swim...
 The boat - "MS Tollesund" is a former ambulance boat, and was
built in 1984. However, it was entirely refurbished, inside and out, in
2008. The boat is flat bottomed and is thus very steady, even in rough
seas. It has a total capacity of 38 passengers, but for this cruise we
take a maximum of 18 people on board so that everyone can be
comfortable. There is seating both downstairs and upstairs, the latter
level with panoramic windows, but there is also seating outside so that
you can sit there and take in the elements. Maximum speed is 23 knots
and the length of the boat is 15 metres / 50 ft.
